The Pakistani Ambassador to Nepal Syed Haider Shah has geared up his meetings with senior political leaders in Kathmanu, calling for strengthening Pakistan-Nepal bilateral cooperation and activation of South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC).
Ambassador Shah on Monday evening, called on former Prime Minister Mr. Madhav Kumar Nepal, Chairman CPN-US at the latter’s residence in Kathmandu.
According to embassy sources, it was a courtesy call in continuation with the outreach effort towards political leadership in the context of strengthening Pakistan-Nepal bilateral relations.
The Ambassador complimented Mr. MK Nepal for his laudable contribution in progression of bilateral ties in various capacities including as Prime Minister. The Ambassador shared his hope that Mr. Nepal would continue to contribute his part in cementing the strong ties between Pakistan and Nepal. Mr. Nepal thanked the Ambassador and expressed his desire for the continuation and further progress of bilateral relations between the two countries.
On Sunday, Ambassador Shah had met with the Chairman CPN-UML and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli at his residence in Balkot. During the meeting, the duo discussed the bilateral relations between Nepal and Pakistan.
According to the Embassy of Pakistan, the Ambassador complimented Oli for his immense contribution in strengthening the bilateral ties between the two countries during his tenure as the Prime Minister of Nepal.
“Ambassador Shah also recalled his effort towards the revival of SAARC,” the Pakistani Embassy said adding that “The Ambassador hoped that former PM Oli would continue to contribute towards bettering Pakistan-Nepal relations as a friend of Pakistan.”
The Ambassador complimented Mr. KP Sharma Oli for his immense contribution in furtherance of bilateral ties during his tenure as Prime Minister. He also recalled his effort towards revival of SAARC.
In reply, UML Chair Oli thanked Ambassador Shah and expressed his desire to see the bilateral relations between the two countries flourish in the days ahead.
