External Forces Foul Play in Sino-Nepal Ties- Sun Haiyan

Sun Haiyan, Vice Minister of the Communist Party of China’s (CPC) International Department, has expressed concerns that other nations are attempting to influence the relationship between China and Nepal.

During an interaction program with political leaders in Kathmandu, she asserted that there are nations actively working against the development of robust political ties between Nepal and China.

During her four days in Nepal, Haiyan spoke with representatives of several political groups in Kathmandu and stated that although the two nations have solid political relations, some other countries do not wish to see this.

She said that strengthening relationships between the two nations was the goal of her trip to Nepal and the joint meetings she held with political parties.

According to her, the two leaders have been working to improve ties between their nations, and the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding has contributed to this effort.

“I have had many meetings this time with the leadership of the CPC.” “Our ambassador has also been working very hard,” “she said, adding,” “We need to work on how to improve China-Nepal relations and cooperate in the new era.”

In the new circumstances, how do you view the relationship with China? What function do political parties serve? Completing assignments is also necessary according to Sun.

China is a popular travel destination in Nepal. “This should be felt in Nepal too,” “she said,” “but it should not be limited to one area.”I had talked about investing in Nepal with Chinese business owners before traveling to the country. However, policy reform is required.”

She stated that China has made investments in the infrastructural development of its neighbors, citing Indonesia as an example.

Simultaneously, she stated that the Chinese investment project in Nepal is taking longer to finish than expected for several reasons other than only COVID-19.

“We have to sit down and solve it.” There should be more cross-cultural interactions. “We are working according to the desire to give more and more scholarships to Nepali students,” “she said, adding, “We understand that there is a need for a project in Nepal for the livelihood.”And that is what we are aiming for. This calls for a policy change. This group of people must understand it.

She claimed that Nepal had a great deal of opportunity to benefit from China’s recent economic reforms. Her main priorities were carrying out the BRI and developing Chinese-style developments.

In a similar vein, Chen Song, the Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, stated that although he first questioned “where the Chinese are” when he arrived in Nepal, the Chinese have since been visiting the country. It’s a joyful development.

“As President Xi said, the pandemic will not affect relations,” “he said, adding,” “We are going to improve relations between the two countries.””A new consensus was reached on the visit of Prime Minister Prachanda, which has taken the relationship to a new height.”

He asserted that to advance the relationship between China and Nepal, consultations are necessary.

Simultaneously, he stated that China is prepared to assist Nepal in its industrialization process and that the country should endeavor to resolve its policy issues.
